Position Title: Credit Analyst

Department: Project Finance

We’re seeking a Project Finance Credit Analyst to join our growing team based in our New York office. You will be responsible for assigning new ratings and providing surveillance for project finance, energy, public power and infrastructure related entities. You will prepare internal credit reports for rating committees, analyze cash flows and evaluate technical aspects of a project. Other areas of responsibility include reviewing credit documentation, transaction structures and financial statements.

This high profile opportunity will enable you as an entry level analyst to join a growing and evolving business, meet with investors and issuers, visit project sites and participate in speaking engagements. As a successful incumbent, you will work independently and move increasingly into a leadership role within our dynamic organization.

About the Team

Our Project Finance team monitors ratings on over 60 transactions spanning across different sectors (renewable energy, toll roads, thermal power, etc.) and jurisdictions. Our primary objective is to maintain high quality credit ratings in a timely manner, which involves forecasting project cash flows; structure analysis; and fundamental market analysis. We pride ourselves on quality, accuracy, timeliness and consistency of our product.

About the Job

You will evaluate financial statements to forecast future performance. You will closely follow developments surrounding rated transactions and their sectors, assessing the potential impact on the transaction and maintaining contact with related parties. You will be responsible for preparing credit submissions and presenting transactions to rating committees. You will write articles for publications on individual transactions as well as special topic and market commentaries.

About You

You are motivated to succeed in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. You work well independently and are able to effectively collaborate with your team members.

You will be successful in this role if you:

Have 1-2 years of experience performing credit analysis on Project Finance, energy, public power and/or infrastructure entities in rating agency, buy-side, credit research, banking or other similar environments
Are proficient in financial statement analysis and financial modeling
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Have proven analytical skills
Have the ability to organize, meet deadlines and multitask
Have a Bachelor’s degree (required)
